Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist I for an opening in Frederick, MD.

Join a diverse team of scientists directly involved in the development and commercialization of pluripotent stem cell technologies. A wide array of activities are anticipated including supporting upstream development, tech transfer and validation with new products; performing benchmarking studies and detailed technical analysis to help identify candidate technologies for commercialization; generating application data with new or current products leveraging a wide array of cell biology reagents, assays and analysis tools. Effective communications skills and experience working in a team environment is required. The successful candidate will employ a diverse array of assays and analytical tools to address key biological questions that make up the framework of our product requirements. Critical thinking skills and attention to detail in are a must. We are looking for an enthusiastic, high energy individual looking to play a significant role in creating next generation cell culture products and learning the product development process in a leading biotechnology company. Due to nature of projects, some weekend work will be required in order to maintain these cultures and experimental or project timelines.

Support product development and commercialization activities with a focus on stem cells, participate in new technology evaluations and generate application data using current products to demonstrate new or novel functions. Experience in mammalian cell culture his highly desired, as this position will require the ability to routinely and consistently culture cells using aseptic techniques in experiments driving product development and protocol optimizations.

Sterile tissue culture technique required; experience culturing stem cells is highly desirable. Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast paced team environment. Experience with general cell culture and molecular biology techniques, including cell counting, cell viability analysis, DNA/RNA isolation, quantitation and analysis (qPCR), immunofluorescent cell labeling, protein isolation and analysis (cell extract preparation, ELISA, western blotting), etc… Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity and use of common statistical approaches to data analysis. Highly organized, ability to maintain well documented laboratory protocols and notebooks. Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

0-2 years of experience. Preference given to candidates with industry and/or product development experience but this is not required.

Accredited bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related life sciences discipline.

1st Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
