Chipton-Ross is seeking one Mechanical Technician 1 for an opportunity in Dulles, VA.
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication. Devices, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies. Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions. Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
Mechanical Technician capable of working on Space hardware in a production environment as part of a specialized team. Work is performed in a Class 7, 10K cleanroom environment, requiring provided gowning use. Typical installations involve both mechanical & thermal installations. Work requires that procedures and processes be followed and documented using our digital procedures.
Minimum of 2 years experience with a High School degree.
Integration is typically performed using model based designs, any experience with MBD’s is preferred.
Experience working with adhesives is preferred.
Knowledge in the use and application of common and specialized tooling is a prerequisite.
Experience base includes the use of torque wrenches, multimeters, micrometers & calipers is required.
High school diploma/GED.
School must be accredited.
9/80 work week.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
