Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Flight Inspector 2 for an opportunity in Dulles, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform in-process and final inspections on circuit card assemblies under magnification in accordance with NASA 8739 or IPC workmanship standards.
Perform inspections on box level assemblies and support environmental testing activities
Confirm acceptable quality standards and workmanship practices are being utilized in assigned work centers
Practically apply process specifications and use applicable workmanship standards during everyday job functions.
Generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.
Perform audits of work areas to ensure compliance with ISO 9001/AS 9100 procedures
Perform in-depth reviews of product build documentation for configuration audit to determine if as-built meets as-designed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma
Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions
Minimum 6 years of experience in manufacturing or inspection fields of electronic components or assemblies
Able to use Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications easily.
Above average technical writing skills is mandatory.
ACTIVE (or expired less than 6 months ago) J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 certification required
Advanced knowledge of both SMT and through-hole parts and ability to discern acceptability criteria of both part types

Preferred:
Associates (2 year) degree from accredited institution
Previous work in technical job field
Working knowledge of TIPQA and/or Costpoint database applications
Knowledge in how to read schematics and wirelists
Previous experience working in ISO-certified company

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
4/10 - Willingness to work 2nd shift activities and occasional overtime or weekend support is required

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
