Chipton-Ross is seeking an Operations Engineering Intern for an opening in Richardson, TX.

The Operations Engineer Intern will be part of a diverse team responsible for the successful introduction of new products into the factory and field. They will contribute to the ongoing improvement of products and the processes used for manufacturing and service. This role collaborates closely with the Product Lifecyle Management, Product Marketing, New Product Development, Manufacturing, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and Global Technical Support groups to ensure the development of sustainable products according to the latest quality standards, at lowest COGS, and in line with best practices. Throughout the lifecycle of our products, the Operations Engineering team implements quality, cost, and process improvements to increase customer satisfaction.

Conducts system-level integration and the configuration of SEM. Debugs and troubleshoots existing electronic designs. Interfaces directly with manufacturing to improve product documentation. Participates with R&D in initial product builds and validation. Defines and integrates factory and service test equipment. Executes engineering change orders to support manufacturing and/or service as needed. Cultivates positive working relationships with Product Lifecycle Management, Factory Support Engineering, Field Service, GTS, Applications, R&D and Operations personnel. Utilizes the client's Practical Process Improvement (PPI) tools to lead or facilitate productivity, scrap reduction, process improvement, and cost improvement projects.

1+ years of experience in high-tech industry environment in service, development, or manufacturing
Capable of PCB design from concept to manufacturing. Experience developing and maintaining electronic fixtures to qualify PCBAs. Able to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems using electrical schematics, DVM, oscilloscopes, function generators and spectrum analyzers. Experience with FMEA, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and Design of Experiments. Able to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining cooperation of cross-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships. Experience using Product Document Management systems including Siemens Teamcenter. Experience in bringing technology solutions to improving the quality, efficiency, and cost of manufacturing and service. Experience in semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing and/or service. Must have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required
Fluent in English (verbal and in writing). Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively and impactfully report to multiple levels of the organization. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Visio, etc.) to analyze, organize, and communicate data/information throughout the organization in a clear and concise manner

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Understanding and experience with low level analog signal processing. Knowledge of key technologies including vacuum, motion control, process automation, optics, and material selection. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a combination of technical education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.

Day shift 9-5, M-F, part time 2-3 days/week

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
