Chipton-Ross is seeking a Energy Business Analyst for an opening in Remote, MO.
Responsible for detailed analysis of generation, interchange and loads in preparation of transmission system revenues and expenses monthly to be recorded in the accounting books and records or provided to external counterparties and Power Pools. In addition, the position will collaborate and coordinate system enhancements and support business initiatives, be responsible to meet the on-going needs of management and comply with all regulatory and external reporting requirements and deadlines.
Perform analytics, provide research, and prepare meter data to determine hourly energy load profiles.
Provide testing and benchmarking support and feedback or recommendations.
Maintain data repositories consisting of large amounts of data, proper documentation, accurate assessment of data, other ad-hoc requests as needed.
he preferred candidate will have experience in energy, simulation modeling, resource planning, energy system planning, operations, or risk management. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills including application of technical reading and data insights • Understanding of accounting and financial principles and a solid working knowledge of financial statements, as well as moth end accounting deadlines. • Should be detail oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytical skills, and be innovative with strong problem-solving skills. • Proficient 10 key experience, use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Products • Candidate will be required to use other internal applications for Evergy. Prior experience with accounting applications (web accounting) preferred. • Ability to leading meetings if needed, able to identify issues and provide resolution, ability to document and respond quickly to inquiries • Ability to comprehend and prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Ability to assimilate information quickly and able to adapt to various sources to determine a recommended course of action • Oversee system implementations and assist with preparation of related testing materials. • Analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex meter and transmission settlement problems. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and juggle priorities to meet deadlines.
bachelor’s degree in accounting, engineering, business administration, economics, finance or other technical field. 4+ years’ experience in financial modeling or analytics, or related accounting functions
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
