Chipton-Ross is seeking an IT Project Manager 4 - Agile Coach for an opportunity in Newport News, VA.

NNS is looking for an experienced Agile Coach to lead at the Product and Portfolio levels in implementing a chosen scaled agile framework. In this role, you will train and mentor teams on the agile methodology and framework and oversee their development to ensure effective organizational outcomes. You are responsible for guiding teams through the implementation process and are tasked with evaluating where they are in their journey and offering the right practices and approaches to support their growth. Your ultimate goal is to arm agile teams with the right knowledge, tools and training so that they'll be able reap maximum benefit from the agile mindset. You will play a key role in the long-term strategy across the entire organization, helping our teams to deliver better products in a faster, more efficient manner. Your agenda is improvement through asking the right questions, providing good mental models, challenging current thinking and guiding teams towards building great products for our customers
Role Objectives:
o The Portfolio / Product Coach is responsible for the creation of clarity and alignment of the overarching execution framework for the encapsulated product teams that deliver on the Expedition strategy.
o The Coach is responsible for the execution of the structure plan.
o Form and coach the Portfolio and Product Teams to ensure cohesive flow and dependency management
o Understand and communicate architectural needs and requirements across teams
o Maintain the integrity of the end state vision across a diverse group of teams
o Provide guidance, validation, and context to teams to assist with alignment to end state goals
o Collaborate with the Expedition Lead to ensure that the focus for the teams remains on the end state, with the knowledge that this may constitute a shifting target
o Be able to articulate architectural and developmental specifics from teams to leadership accurately
o Guide teams to help them stay on track with agile techniques, fine-tuning approaches as needed to ensure the overall strategy is being met
o Lead agile workshops for both development and functional teams, as well as key stakeholders and organizational leaders
o Promote and advocate a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones and being accountable for them
o Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset and ensure the organization is at the forefront of industry best practices

o 5+ years of experience as an Agile Coach, preferably part of transformation efforts
o 10+ years of information technology experience
o Prior experience mentoring teams to adopt Agile practices as a coach, scrum master or product owner
o Breadth of experience in a variety of Agile and Lean practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe etc.)
o Agile Portfolio Management experience
o Knowledgeable of new/emerging practices and coaching techniques
o Strong, flexible communications skills utilizing different mediums
o Examples of implementing agile techniques in different cultures and environments
o Strong leader, educator, and coach
o An excellent communicator and motivator

This position is anticipated to be 60% remote.

Preferred Qualifications
o Experience coaching at large organizations or Fortune 500 companies
o Project management experience, as well as a background in technical implementation to support development and architectural requirements
o Agile/Kanban Coach certification
o Scrum Master certification
o Experience coaching at large organizations or Fortune 500 companies
o Computer Science background

Bachelors in Science, Masters, or PhD is required. School must be accredited.

7:30AM to 4PM

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
