- Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Structural Analysis Engineer 2's for an opportunity in Ridley Park, PA.
Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general supervision.
o Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the airframe design.
o Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural design, characteristics and performance.
o Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify airframe meets requirements and specifications.
o Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
o Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
o Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
o Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements.
o Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering.
o Minimum of two (2) years of structural analysis engineering experience.
Must be local candidate that can sit onsite
Successfully completing training OJT is a contingency
Preferred Qualifications (Desired skills/experience):
o Experience performing analysis utilizing closed form classical methods and finite element analysis (FEA) on airframes.
o Familiarization with Client tools i.e.: IAS, CSW, GKJoint, IDTAS, DTANAL, LifeWorks, JOLT, etc
o Experience with common FEM tools such as NASTRAN/Patran and ABAQUS
Accredited Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering.
