- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tool Designer 4 for an opening in Mesa, AZ.
Investigates, creates and reviews equipment and tooling concepts, designs and datasets, and organizes, manages and maintains drawings of record and applies configuration management tools. Participates in product design reviews and researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan and establish technical requirements for producibility. Develops statements of work with validated specifications, requirements, and functions and prepares design or fabrication off load packages. Develops, documents and maintains equipment and tooling inspection, maintenance and spares requirements and trains personnel as needed. Researches designs to create and revise usage instructions. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analyzing data to identify solutions. Conducts studies to determine current condition and make recommendation for disposition of the equipment and tooling. Restriction: In locations where SPEEA representation applies, this job family will be covered by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements. Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision. Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan. Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling. Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Establishes and validates spares requirements. Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work. Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training. Provides technical direction to support engineering changes and discrepancy resolution. Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration. Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.
SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:
Unigraphics, CATIA, Teamcenter, MES
Accredited education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).
FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- Position is considered onsite, but can be hybrid
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
