Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineer Embedded Software 2 for an opportunity in Cincinnati, OH.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking Embedded Software Engineers in a variety technical disciplines who are self-motivated and energetic with a background in Embedded Systems Design and Software Development.Essential Functions:The Embedded Software Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary program responsible for architecting, designing, testing, and deploying next-generation, specialized communication and sensing systems critical to US intelligence customers and allies. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will contribute to system requirements generation, hardware-selection trade studies, embedded software development, and integration and testing of systems. Our programs are engineering intensive, rapid schedule jobs for diverse SIGINT/EW applications. Focus areas are advanced waveform development, low size, weight and power (low SWaP) processing systems, specialized space communication payloads, and persistent signal surveillance systems. We are pushing the boundaries of wh at is possible in terrestrial, air, and space domains.MSRAD

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
These positions can be filled at a Principal or Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for Embedded Software Engineers:
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 2 years of relevant work experience OR M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 0 years of relevant work experience NOTE: 4 years of relevant work experience can be substituted for the degree.
Demonstrated software programming experience in C, C++, and embedded assembly languages (e.g. ARM, STM32, MSP430)
Experience with embedded systems debugging and system analysis tools (e.g. JTAG emulators, remote GDB servers, USB or benchtop logic analyzers)
Experience with embedded systems development environments such as Xilinx SDK, TI Code Composer Studio, IAR Embedded Workbench, and the GNU compiler collection (GCC) and associated tools
Demonstrated experience with embedded commun ications protocols such as SPI, I2C, RS-232, CAN, SpaceWire, and MIL-STD-1553B

B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 5 years of relevant work experience OR M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and 3 years of relevant work experience or a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 0 years of relevant work experience NOTE: 4 years of relevant work experience can be substituted for the degree.
Demonstrated software programming experience in C, C++, and embedded assembly languages (e.g. ARM, STM32, MSP430)

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
Interest in digital signal processing
Experience with GNU Radio or other software-defined radios (SDRs) and platforms
Proficient with MATLAB/Octave
Experience with embedded real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Mentor Nucleus, or Linux with PREEMPT_RT
Experience with SDLC (software development life cycle)
Experience developing software for multiple operating system environments
Experience with virtual machine technology and containers
Development of lower level networking protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
Ability to understand secure / insecure programming concepts (format string vulnerabilities, heap overflows, etc.)
Familiarity with common source control tools (git, Mercurial, etc.) and automated build system workflows (Jenkins, Go, etc.)
Experience with the Agile methodology

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree. See requirements.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 work week.
