Description


Chipton Ross is seeking a Build Technician for an opening in North Las Vegas, NV.


WHY WE NEED YOU
A Build Technician is a team player who can work through single and multi-system builds with intricate yet clear instructions while understanding the component/assembly's functional intent. They are detail-oriented and able to pay attention to the work and advise others about how unforeseen factors can affect performance. They can write the necessary reports, and appropriately document work performed. They are also willing and able to teach and explain what they are doing to others. A Build Technician works logically to solve problems and has a close attention to detail. This person can work from drawings, hand sketches, manufacturer's data sheets, incomplete data, and written and verbal instruction. This person has a working knowledge of building safe equipment using safe work practices and can readily identify equipment hazards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support build and assembly of component level hardware and the client vehicle?alongside Process Development Engineers.
Assists with mechanical integration and assembly on the development builds
Perform work from build procedures, test plans, drawings, hand sketches, manufacturer data sheets, incomplete data, and both written and verbal instruction.
Record build information such as operation start and stop times, torque values, and hardware serial number.
Read and understand technical documentation including mechanical drawings, standard operating procedures, manuals, and safety documentation.
Checks and verifies quality related to the mechanical systems.
Wire sensors, control, and power systems for low Voltage systems.
Work with manual, power tools and precision measuring tools to analyze and measure for results.
Work on paperless work environment with hand-held devices, desktops and laptops.
Work unsupervised in a safe conscientious manner.
Work well with others and use experience to guide and help them.
Responsible for maintaining daily 5S standard.
Maintain a clean work environment with safety first mentality.
All other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE
Minimum 2 years' experience working in a lab, manufacturing, or assembly environment with hands-on build & experience in a low-volume and manual build setting.
Must demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated mechanical assembly experience.
History of meeting schedules and timelines.
Ability to interpret schematics (mechanical, etc.), shop drawings, sketches and work orders.
Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines.

Additionally, highly preferable is our "NICE TO HAVE"
" 2-year or 4-year technical degree.
" Has hands on experience building component level hardware in one of the following:
o Electric motors
o Power electronics
o Thermal systems
o High voltage battery packs
" Hands-on experience with basic electrical metering equipment for "Check and Verify" parameters to quality
" Hands-on experience in general assembly for automotive, aerospace, or electric vehicles.
" Formal education or exposure to Lean Six Sigma, 5S or Kaizen methodologies.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physically able to crouch, walk, maneuver and lift objects up to 40 lbs. independently
Is willing to work in extreme temperature, cramped, and or otherwise uncomfortable environments
Exposure to high powered magnets and high voltage systems.
Willing and able to wear COVID-19 mandatory face-covering.
Willing and able to work on an "active work construction site" and wear the required personal protection equipment: Hard hat, reflective vest, safety work boots and others as required by safety requirements.

NICE TO HAVE
2-year or 4-year technical degree.
Has hands on experience building component level hardware in one of the following:
Electric motors
Power electronics
Thermal systems
High voltage battery packs
Hands-on experience with basic electrical metering equipment for "Check and Verify" parameters to quality
Hands-on experience in general assembly for automotive, aerospace, or electric vehicles.
Formal education or exposure to Lean Six Sigma, 5S or Kaizen methodologies.
Forklift operator certification.
OSHA 10-Hour training and credential.

Work Schedule
1st Shift, 5/40 schedule

Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
