Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Engineer for an opening in King Of Prussia, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The person in this position will support the research, development, and adoption of new and existing materials for material extrusion 3D printing, evaluating the fitness of each material for use in 3D printing. He/she will be responsible for converting the material into filaments or compounded into pellets, attempt printing as-is, develop print parameters, evaluated mechanical properties, and when needed suggest and perform modifications to improve printability or mechanical properties of each. The candidate will also create data sheets and demo pieces as appropriate to help market each material as well as supply materials and provide printer guidance in collaborative projects. A successful candidate will be familiar with polymer processing equipment and processes, have a some knowledge and/or interest in extrusion printing, be able to design and run experiments, and report findings in a technical and professional manor.

REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with 3D printing (material extrusion specifically) and 3D design is a plus
Strong analytical/laboratory and mechanical skills, desire to learn/do new things, attention to detail, and record keeping.
Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
Proficient with computer software applications and data analysis (word, excel, etc.).
Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal skills, independent problem solver.
3D printing of materials including converting material into filaments/pellets, slicing the part on a computer, and adjusting print parameters and part design as needed. Work with 3D team to identify what parts to print for internal testing, customer demonstrations, and collaborations. Perform mechanical and final part characterization, data analysis, and work to prepare reports for R&D and Business Development activities. Help identify new prints or testing methods to best characterize the material for the specific need. Help to identify ways to improve printability and mechanical performance of the printed parts as well as help create data sheets for white papers, internal reports, and external projects.
With Scientist supervision, plan and execute experimental plan. Prepare work plan, LHA, SOP, MOC, and support all Safety related activities. Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of the printers and equipment in the lab. Submit samples for analytical testing and managing to get timely response.
Perform a range of general support tasks including shipping of products or samples, preparing display boards for presentations, and purchasing of materials, supplies and printer modification. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and manage storage of materials and samples.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree with applicable experience in polymer science, processing, or lab environment or High School Diploma with 5+ years of applicable experience in polymer processing or lab environment.

SHIFT:
Full-Time

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
