Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking three Milling Machine Machinist 1's for an opportunity in Palmdale, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sets up and operates plain or universal, horizontal, or vertical milling machines to perform machining operations such as compound angles and contours; boring compound angular holes; doing helical and spiral milling; serrating; and gear, spline, and keyway cutting to exacting tolerances. Selects, mounts, and aligns various specialized machine attachments and standard or improvised tooling; plans sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; determines, sets, and adjusts speeds, feeds, and depth of cut; interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations; and measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Operate Automated equipment such as ADS (Automated Drilling System) with a 840D
controller , IDRD (inlet duct robotic Drill) and AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle ) .

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma or equivalent with 1 to 3 years of experience.
NC machining certification or apprenticeship may be substituted for years of experience
Requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Exclude general, all-around machinists and operators who do not perform own setups or determine sequence of operations.
These 3 systems required an internal certifications to be able to operate independently, the candidate will have to obtain these certs after their on the job training is completed.
Must be able to obtain these certs before 5 months

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
The position is for multiple shifts :
4/10s Mon -Thurs 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
4/10s Mon-Thurs 4:12PM to 2:42 AM
3/10s Fri-Sun 5:00AM to 3:30 PM
The candidates have to be open to work any shift .

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
