- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist II, Molecular Biologyfor an opening in Carlsbad, CA.
We are seeking a creative and motivated Scientist II to join our rapidly growing clinical sequencing team. The candidate will be responsible for developing new products and will work closely with cross-functional teams including Bioinformatics, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory and/or Operations.
Successful candidates will have a strong molecular biology experience with a background in molecular applications including hands-on experience in PCR and sequencing. The candidate will work independently in a fast-paced environment with very supportive teammates. Independently designs experimental plans, analyzes experimental data, generates laboratory protocols, and writes technical reports. Troubleshoots and solves difficult problems in the design/execution of development projects. Maintains accurate lab notebook to support protection of intellectual property in accordance with relevant client required standards. Presents data at weekly and monthly meetings. Interacts closely with other internal departments (i.e., Bioinformatics, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory and/or Operations). Complies with all company safety, training, and quality regulations.
PCR and sequencing experience are preferred. Prior industrial experience is desirable. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Background in working with PCR and sequencing based assays. Proven proficiency in data analysis, research design, troubleshooting, and procedures for products or technologies.
Accredited Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related discipline and 1-2 plus years of lab experience is required.
Alternately, an accredited Bachelor's degree with 3 plus years of experience is acceptable.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
