Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tech Field Ops Mech Level 2 for an opening in WSMR, NM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibility is routine maintenance of tactical wheeled and track vehicles, which also includes repair, modification and test of these vehicles. The technician is also expected to promote a positive Lockheed Martin image in all interactions. Selected candidate must maintain skills and proficiency in mechanical/fluid systems and in electrical/electronic systems through on-job-training and formal classroom training as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated competency in the use of automotive diagnostic test equipment. Demonstrated aptitude in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment failures, including fault isolation. Experience working on and operating heavy machinery/equipment (military or commercial) Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a PC and applications – Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Desired Skills:
Experience handling explosives as part of weapon system development and testing. Experience at a major testing range such as China Lake, Redstone Arsenal, or White Sands is desired. Current Class A Commercial Drivers License. Certification or degree in automotive technology, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, from a college or learning organization. Western Tech College Certification from El Paso, TX (Diesel Mechanics).
