Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer for an opening in Palmdale, CA

As part of an Agile/Scrum team, you will collaborate on all software development activities including requirements elicitation, design, development, documentation, testing, integration, more testing and debugging of software. You will be a key member of a team that responsible for the development and maintenance of airborne and ground-based systems. This role will leverage your advanced object-oriented programming knowledge, experiences, and stretch you to your highest potential.
As a member of the Advanced Development Program (ADP aka Skunkworks) team, you will enjoy a fast-paced, challenging and always-exciting environment. We don't sit and wait for instructions in ADP, we press forward and figure out how to produce the highest quality and advanced systems on the planet.
Every day you will be balancing between adherence to software development standards, processes, procedures, tools, and your passion for pushing the envelope.
You will participate in Agile ceremonies throughout each iteration and increment of the project where you are held accountable by your team and our customer to produce what you promise.
You will be integral to our DevSecOps environment, applying your knowledge of software engineering practices to evolve our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline.

• Experience in one or more programming software languages: Ada, C, C++, C#, Python and/or Java.
• Experience with the software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
• Familiar with Navigation, Guidance, and Control Systems
• Experience with programming MIL-STD-1553 busses
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies, Agile Process Tools (e.g. JIRA, Gitlab)
• Windows or Linux application or server-side development
• Development of real-time systems or use of real-time operating systems (RTOS), such as Wind River VxWorks or Green Hills Integrity
• Object Oriented Programming Principles
• Experience with developing software for air vehicle systems
• Experience with integrating hardware and software, Rhapsody or other model-based software development
• Experience using standard office software tools/solutions e.g., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)
• Ability to travel up to 10%

• Ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate with others, engage in constructive conflict, and manage interpersonal dynamics
• Solid decision making and judgment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Basic financial and business acumen
• Ability to deliver results for the business in partnership with program managers and other functional disciplines/organizations as needed
• Cost Account Management (CAM) experience or knowledge is desired
Successful candidate will possess attributes of a self-starter, go-getter, and positive attitude. Must have simulation, embedded software, and/or MIL-STD-1553 busses experience. Must be a strong software developer with Ada and/or C++ programming skills. Lead experience is highly desire, or an emerging leader.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Other Engineering degrees considered with significant engineering software development experience.
