Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer for an opening in Palmdale, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applicant will be a software engineer responsible for embedded software design, development and integration to support real-time embedded avionics software projects. The applicant will be responsible for designing, coding, testing and integrating software. Contribute to software requirements, design, code, reviews, and test of operational flight programs. Modeling and simulation efforts. Good oral and written communication skills required as is the ability to flex and adapt in a fast-paced team environment. Good presentation skills.
Must demonstrate the following:
• Ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate with others, engage in constructive conflict, and manage interpersonal dynamics
• Strong decision making and judgment
• Oral and written communication skills
• Basic financial and business acumen
• Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver results for the business in partnership with program managers and other functional disciplines/organizations as needed
• Demonstrated experience using standard office software tools/solutions e.g., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project)

REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience with C++
• Experience with Requirements Development and Model Based Systems Engineering tools such as Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo
• Experience with the software development process in a distributed environment (supplier management, integrated testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
Desired Skill:
• Demonstrated experience with the following:
• Development of real-time systems or use of real-time operating systems (RTOS), such as Wind River VxWorks or Green Hills Integrity
• Object Oriented programming and design
• The software development process in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
• Integrating hardware and software
• Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
• Experience with XML, Python, or a related language
Required:
• Experience with C++
• Experience with any Real Time Operating Systems (VxWorks or Green Hills preferred)

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 10+ years of professional experience; or 8+ years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
