Chipton-Ross is seeking anAeronautical Engineer for an opening in Fort Worth, TX

Candidate will work within the thermodynamics team. The candidate will lead research into hypersonic aerothermal applications on revolutionary new systems. You will lead research into novel and complex aerothermal phenomena, thermal modeling, and the development of new thermal management technologies. Areas of interest include hypersonic skin heating on complex shapes, shock / leading edge and shock / shock interactions, and the aerothermal and thermal aspects of non-traditional geometries at hypersonic speeds, as well as the thermal modelling of complex structures and the development of thermal management and mitigation systems for lightweight, high speed applications.
You will work with a small, highly focused, cross disciplinary team to apply your solutions to beyond state-of-the-art programs in both unclassified and classified venues. As the subject matter expert working in a fast paced development environment, you will need the highest levels of initiative, self-accountability, and dedication to the quality of your work, as well as excellent teamwork and communication skills. You will provide technical direction to, and mentoring of, junior team members. You will be responsible for the aerothermal and thermal products and processes in this area, and need to be confident in working on problems and developing novel solutions for which there are no precedents to draw on. In addition, you will lead improvements to the existing analytical capabilities, processes and tools, and identify technology advances and formulate roadmaps to assist with program strategy.You will be on the cutting edge of providing for America’s defense. This is a demanding, high paced environment where personal initiative and creativity are expected. Occasional short, domestic travel may be required. Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, communication and presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Experience or demonstrated expertise in hypersonic aerodynamics or aerothermodynamics
Experience with aerothermal or hypersonic aerodynamics research, in an academic or industry setting
Demonstrated leadership of a technical research team, in an industry or academic setting
Experience with high speed aircraft, weapon, or space flight vehicle thermal research or design
Experience designing, analyzing, integrating, and testing/qualifying thermal management systems
Experience and knowledge of multiple tools in thermal analysis, finite element modeling, CFD, programming languages (such as C++, Matlab, Simulink, Fortran), and thermal subsystem analysis tools
Patents, published papers, or dissertations in relevant areas of research
-- Experience with thermodynamics, conduction, convection, and radiation heat transfer
-- Thermal management system design, analysis, testing
-- Modelling experience with at least one of the following: Sinda/Fluint, CFD codes
-- Experience with one of the following programming languages (C++, Fortran)

-- Masters degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 7 years of professional experience , or Bachelors degree with 9 years of professional experience
Desired- PHD in related field
