Chipton-Ross is seeking an International Trade Compliance Analyst 3 in Newport News, VA.

Develops and manages comprehensive internal export and import controls to ensure compliance with US and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain and other business activities. Establishes business processes for submitting to and obtaining from the US government all necessary export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations. Establishes and maintains relations with appropriate government regulatory agencies. Establishes operational processes for assuring trade compliance through gate reviews for technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits and export and import shipments. Maintains applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Supports law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints. Establishes and maintains training and audit assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls. Generates performance metrics for export and import processes.
Specifically, this person will assist various projects related to export activity to include hardware shipments, licensing (ITAR) and export compliance. The focus of those projects will be on reviewing transactional requests for travel and hardware shipments, understanding current export licenses, and analyzing current files for compliance. It is expected that research of export regulations will be a necessary part of their daily support. Additional support will take the form of commodity classification for export purposes to determine regulatory coverage under the ITAR or EAR. The person will be expected to support internal self-assessments by collecting data, conducting analysis and identifying possible changes/improvements.

Bachelor's Degree in related field
6 years Minimum Years of Experience
Master's degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience.

Special Requirements;
o Experience with Department of State export licenses and exemptions (ITAR)
o Experience with hardware export filings and hand-carries
o Jurisdiction and classification of products under the ITAR and EAR
o Ability to document procedures and processes
o Comfort level in providing training on export compliance topics
o Detail oriented
o Project oriented
o Able to support multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
o Computer literacy

Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.

7:30AM to 4PM
This position MAY have the option for part time remote work, once training has been completed. Full time onsite work will be required for a minimum of the first few weeks of assignment.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
