Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 Software Engineer 3s located in Colorado Springs, CO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Performs software project management and software supplier management functions. Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics. Executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. Works under general direction.

Position Responsibilities (Focus Areas include):•Maintaining (and developing when required) code, upgrading and integrating software components into a fully functional software system
•Developing new and various application issues
•Development of software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
•Perform software project management and supporting software supplier management functions
•Collaborating effectively within small team environment, as well as working tasks independently with minimal direction

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
•Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
•BS and 5 years experience in software development, or a Masters and 2 years
•1+ years’ experience in programming in C++, Java and Python
•2+ years’ experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test
•2+ years’ experience in software development life cycles, configuration mangement and best agile software engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
•2+ years’ experience working in an Agile Environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools
•Skills in Software Development Management including source code control, peer reviews, defect management
•CompTIA Security + Certification

EDUCATION:
Accredited Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Full-Time/First Shift
7:00 am - 3:30 pm
