Description


Chipton Ross is seeking a Project Manager for an opening in Aston, PA.

Responsibilities
Organize and execute project management activities in order to meet company and division business objectives. Support the Project Manager II and Project Manager III positions. Execute project management procedures and engineering policies including required interfaces with other departments with respect to engineering, production, spares, purchasing, quality and marketing.
Provide leadership and project management efforts oriented toward excellence in project execution, aligned to customer commitments, and infused with a "can do" spirit. Be an advocate for high quality performance, accountability and teamwork throughout ESCO. Be a proactive force for excellence in lean management, leadership, continuous improvement, innovation, teamwork, and customer relationships.

Specific Duties/Accountabilities
Project Management:
Project Management Activities:
Coordinate and manage project deliverable requirements and activities with key resources including marketing, engineering, production, contracts and quality.
Manage project performance in terms of scope, schedule and cost as outlined by the project management procedures and requirements.
Engage continues process improvement and development opportunities, supporting project documentation requirements, proposals and customer needs.
R&D Project Management Activities
Interfaces with Investment Council to present new project proposals, update status on existing projects, and present milestone related recommendations on project continuation.
Work with project leads and Director of Contracts and Intellectual Property to ensure that IP is properly documented and submitted, when applicable.
Monitors R&D spending to compare progress to expenditures, and elevates budget variances for Staff evaluation.
Supports the Rapid Prototype Process through M3 data entry and facilitation of team communication.
Organizes and leads monthly Phase Review meetings to facilitate process compliance and ensures completion of resulting action items.
Supports research, benchmarking, and implementation of R&D processes designed to encourage innovation throughout the division.
Supports development and maintenance of Aston's Technology Roadmap.
Working with the Engineering and Marketing, provide support to market campaigns by supporting customer assessments of ESCO product performance, shaping the introduction strategy for technical features of new products.

Education or Basic Knowledge Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent training and professional experience.
Project Management Professional Certification and/ or EIT certified desirable.
Familiarity in dealing with R&D projects.

Experience Required
2-4 years of experience in engineering, design, analytical development or application work.

Complexity of Duties
High degree of problem solving and decision-making capabilities required for complex issues departmentally, company wide, and externally with international customers. Good judgment and people skills are required. Satisfactory planning skills are required to effectively schedule program tasks in a timely and cost effective manner.

Responsibility for Errors
Responsible to ensure engineering scope and execution of assigned projects and tasks are without errors. Errors may cause delays, expensive rework, and additional effort and personnel. Errors in performance can directly affect costs and related profitability. Probable errors can affect quality as well reputation of the company and division.

Responsibility for Relationships with Others
Regular personal contact with internally and externally people in varying positions of authority, and requires a degree of diplomacy and the ability to influence decisions.
Type of Supervision
Coordinate the execution of projects for the company and division. Organizes work, supports the standards of performance, related policies. Teams with support personnel assigned to such tasks. This includes responsibility for performance, and development of engineers, Field Representatives, and other personnel that may be assigned.

Extent of Supervision
Responsible for indirect supervision of project support personnel required to meet company and division objectives, as well as secondary supervision of direct and subcontract Field Service technicians or shop personnel that may be assigned on an as required basis.

Incumbent may be required to perform other duties/responsibilities not specifically defined in this position guideline.

Work Schedule
1st Shift, M-F 7am to 5pm


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
