- Chipton-Ross is seeking an EHS Coordinator for an opening in Carlsbad, CA.
This position reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing Operations– the primary responsibility of this position is to support the Carlsbad Manufacturing team's EHS Compliance and Accident and Injury Prevention processes. This position will also provide support to the EHS Specialist and the Manufacturing Engineering team in carrying out facility goals, metrics and continuous improvement activities.
Perform safety walkthrough inspections, taking note of improper procedures, unsafe work practices, check equipment and facilities for hazardous conditions, and recommend corrective actions. Support departments in Safety initiatives from SHED Super User, Respiratory program, Spill Responder, First Aid Responder, Emergency Evacuation, and other initiatives. Participate in analysis of incidents, near miss, or hazardous ID and the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Maintains the SHED, EHS Management System, by ensuring the prompt completion of investigation and resolution by area owners. Drive incident free workplace initiative through education and coaching to build a culture of ownership for safety within each team. Ensure departments maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on annual trainings, audits, and safety. Support ergonomic program by providing training, performing assessments and implementing Improvements. Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and assist in the development of materials relating to these presentations. Champion ergonomic program by providing training, performing assessments and implementing Improvements. Perform regulatory compliance inspections and maintain records. Actively participate in Practical Process Improvement/5S/and other continuous improvement/lean projects. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Two to three years’ experience in either: Manufacturing, Environmental, Safety or Health field. Ability to work under pressure while retaining a high degree of accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Computer experience, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Experience with OSHA regulatory requirements. Self-starter, attention to detail, great teammate
Accredited Associate’s degree EHS, Nursing or a related field is required.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
