Chipton Ross is seeking a Electrical Quality Inspector for an opening in N. Las Vegas, NV.

The Electrical Quality Inspector/Specialist shall support the business in the areas of new product development of power supply solutions (linear power, magnetics, power converters, high voltage harnesses, etc.), manufacturing integration, supplier engagement, product verification, technical data review(s) and quality system management.
The successful candidate will perform quality inspections for the development and integration of the high voltage network. Additional key responsibilities include:
" Perform electrical inspections of components such as wire harness and cabling fabrication, circuit board assemblies, power distribution panels, power supplies, light assemblies, convertors, switches, equipment racks, servers, routers, relays, encryptors, etc.
" Perform visual and mechanical inspections of basic parts, materials, and subassemblies using engineering drawings, specifications, receiving inspection instructions, and test procedures.
" Use basic knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications to be able to use the following measurement tools: microscopes, ruler, gauges, calipers, micrometers, smart scope, and Keyence for the inspection of materials.
" Integrate high voltage subsystems (mechanical, electrical, controls, software, etc.) and components into a fully functional system. Verify and validate system performance.
" Participate in the improvement of the PFMEA & inspection processes for existing & future assets.
" Responsible for the inspection of manufactured products when applicable using first article pieces, setup pieces, shift samples, etc. according to checklists, blueprints, and standards.
" Responsible for verifying vendor reports (i.e., material certification, test reports, build report, first article inspection reports, etc.) and internal fabrication documentation such as work instruction, travelers, and end of line test reports.
" Conduct, review, and approve first article inspection reports per AS9102 or equivalent using GD&T principles.
" Assist in changes to controlled documents to ensure defined quality objectives are met.
" Maintains a safe and healthy environment by following standards and procedures established by company.
" Identify and record apparent safety and reliability conditions that could impact safety or system reliability, such as low conductors, damaged equipment, visually apparent building, and ground clearances that present a danger of imminent harm, visual imminent hazardous conditions.
" Understand and able to use surface resistance meters, static field meters, event detectors, ground integrity meters, and data loggers.
" Strong written and oral communication skills, with capability of training other technician in the electrical discipline.
" Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
" Fluent in English, written and verbal.
" Knowledge or work experience in vehicle battery systems (12V, Hybrid, Plug-In & EV) is a plus.
" Knowledge or work experience in ADAS or autonomous vehicle is a plus.
" Excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and multi-tasking capability.
" Ability to grasp or manipulate objects with one or both hands.
" Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use office equipment in the course of normal duties.
" Ability to work on a construction site in hazardous conditions.
" 7+ Years of experience in Quality Inspection of semiconductors, printed circuit boards, and electrical and electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing processes is required.
" Extensive knowledge of industry standards such as IPC 610, 620, J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, and MIL-STD-750. Current certifications are a plus.
" Demonstrated ability in reading/understanding blueprints and technical manuals and reports per ASME Y14.5 standards.
" Experience with digital communication protocols such as RS232, RS422, RS485, Ethernet, and MIL-STD-1553
" Knowledge of ESD theories and standards, including ANSI/ESD S20.20, JESD 625, and MIL-STD-1686.
" Working knowledge of Li-ion batteries and Battery Management Systems a plus
" Knowledge of electronics testing experience (Oscilloscopes, Meters, Power Supplies, etc.)
" Electrical system integration experience using knowledge of:
o high voltage DC systems
o wire harness design / 3D routing,
o digital and analog circuit design and PCB layout
o firmware development
o power electronics integration
o UL, NEC, IEC, etc. code compliance
Work Schedule
5/40 Schedule, 1st Shift, M-F 7am to 4pm

Employment will be contingent on clearing a background check. Must clear prior to start date.
