Chipton-Ross is seeking a Trajectory Sofware Developer for an opening in Palmdale, CA.
Candidate will be responsible for performing software development to innovate and enhance optimal trajectories software for subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic vehicles. Duties will include use of POST, OTIS, and/or pseudospectral trajectory optimization software. Work will be applicable across all business areas to include aircraft, missiles, reentry, and space vehicles; thus, requires knowledge in flight mechanics and orbital mechanics. Position will later require flight controls analysis on open-loop and closed-loop systems utilizing both state-space and transfer function representation.
-6DOF and/or 3DOF simulations in MATLAB & SIMULINK is required
-Modeling, Guidance, Navigation and flight controls
-Weapons experience across Guidance, Navigation, and/or Controls (GNC) disciplines
-Demonstrated experience in all phases of flight control laws design life cycle - from requirements development, conceptual design, detailed
design, code generation, software verification & validation, ground test and flight test phases.
-Must have a good understanding of aircraft/missile stability and control and aerodynamics characteristics.
