Chipton-Ross is seeking a Data Governance Analyst for an opening in Remote, US.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the data governance team in the formation and execution of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards

Work with business area representatives to implement data governance policies and standards and enhance accessibility of data through data sharing events and agreements

Contribute to the creation of the RMS Data Steward network

Define how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and systems including proper data definitions, quality of the data, data lineage, data security, and data sharing

Identify and execute solutions to improve data quality and data access

Be forward looking to future data management techniques and processes to drive the development of a Master Data Strategy

Contribute to the creation of the RMS Data Steward network, including development of training materials, processes, and tools

Promote agile processes within the Data Governance workstream

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, propose and develop solutions, while maximizing value delivered through coordination between project team and stakeholders to resolve dependencies, escalate impediments, and help manage risk


REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated knowledge of data governance principles and practices (2 years)

Experience analyzing systems, processes, and/or data across business areas and functions (2 years)

Strong understanding of databases and data structures (2 years)

Basic facilitation skills with the ability to drive issues to closure (3 years)

Experience documenting technical solutions in support of standards and best practices (3 years)

Experience coordinating with a variety of subject matter experts and stakeholders across the business (3 years)

Advanced knowledge of data management, data quality, and data issue resolution methodologies and techniques (2 years)

Ability to provide a clear and concise explanation of governance strategy, technical concepts, designs, and implementations to non-technical audiences (3 years)

DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience working with cross-functional, diverse, and virtual teams

Knowledge of Agile development processes and tools

Prior Aerospace & Defense industry experience

Experience with Collibra Data Governance Center (DGC)

Experience building data catalogs and business glossaries

Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools and practices

Experience with Data Quality tools and practices

Experience performing as a data steward

Experience facilitating business stakeholder process workshops or requirements gathering workshops

Understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality

A Master's in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or other relevant area

EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or other relevant area
