Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer 4 for an opportunity in Tukwila, WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gathers, defines and documents system level requirements and investigates actions necessary for requirements definition and flow-down improvement. Performs and documents design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems and guides experienced engineers in performance of the designs. Develops GNC and mathematical tools and techniques and aids in developing Technology roadmaps. Performs or directs test data analysis and documentation. Presents findings of compliance to regulatory agencies, negotiates certification basis in alignment project goals, simulation and design review per FAA, MIL-SPEC and NASA guidance. Trains and coaches others. Works under minimal direction.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Gather and define requirements for Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) systems
• Perform mission planning and analyses to define spacecraft trajectories and performance requirements
• Develop navigation and guidance algorithms to support mission and trajectory needs
• Create models, simulations and tools to support GN&C system development and analysis
• Perform design & analysis of integrated Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) systems
• Support design reviews, analyses, simulations and component / system testing to ensure delivery of products that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
• Support troubleshooting of delivered product operational / service anomalies and incidents
• Participate in new business development efforts
• Work under general supervision

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5 years or more experience with spacecraft, missile, aircraft, autonomous platform or similar vehicle Guidance, Navigation or Control systems

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• 1 year or more experience using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX to model systems
• 1 year or more experience in computer programming using C, C++, C#, Ada or other engineering programming languages
• Experience with simulation and / or system / component modeling
• Experience or coursework with Kalman Filter design or other estimation techniques
• Experience with implementing algorithms in real time systems
• Experience with auto-coding of software

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

MISCELLANEOUS:

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
