Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Level 3 for a contract opportunity in Archbald, PA.

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

This position may be responsible for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production and release. Interfaces as the project’s lead resource with design, manufacturing, test, quality, and the program office as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Uses SAP, lean six sigma concepts, and other tools to analyze and design sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies and implements plans pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Minimum 5-10 years of experience performing Manufacturing Engineering tasks. Ability to solve problems and read & interpret drawing requirements. Ability to generate work instructions that can be easily followed by assemblers. Ability to plan, coordinate, and set up production work cells and facility layout changes. Strong root cause and corrective action analysis skills for resolving issues. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook) Strong written and oral communication/interpersonal skills. Evaluates and indicates how to achieve planned performance This facility requires all candidates must be a US Citizen.

5-10 years of experience in all aspects of circuit card assembly for plated-thru-hole (PTH) and surface mount technology (SMT) production. Strong familiarity with component forming, pick-and-place equipment, solder printing, hand soldering, wave soldering, selective-soldering, conformal coating, automated optical inspection, x-ray inspection, and programming of related assembly equipment. Certifications or knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001. Green Belt or Black Belt Certifications in lean/six-sigma to drive continuous improvement. Electro-mechanical, cable & harness assembly/fabrication experience. Tooling and fixture design including modeling and 3D printing. Use of configuration management tools and MRP/ERP production system (i.e. SAP, Windchill) Use of simulation modeling to analyze and improve production process flow

Accredited Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Degree


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
