Description


Chipton Ross is seeking a Technical Writer 3 for an opening in Milledgeville, GA.

Overview:
Candidate will write, rewrite and/or edit technical documents such as aircraft maintenance manuals, structural repair manuals and component maintenance manuals to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.

Candidate must have the following experience:
1) analysis/interpretation of engineering source data
2) validation/verification of aircraft maintenance procedures
3) technical manual deliveries.
The candidate will participate in evaluation of technical problems/issues and propose technical solutions in accordance with engineering guidelines and customer specifications. Experience and knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures is a prerequisite.

Responsibilities:
interacting with reliability and maintainability engineers as well as design engineers and supporting engineering functions. Applies technical publication authoring principles, concepts, standards and industry practices. Develops solutions to a variety of challenging problems during development of Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM, AMP), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM, CMP), and Structural Repair Manuals (SRM, ASRP). Work is performed under general supervision, with active participation in determining assignment objectives. Plans and schedules own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives. Exerts some influence on overall objectives and long range goals of the Product Support organization.

Qualifications:
At least six years of experience in aircraft maintenance/technical standards or equivalent relevant work experience with aircraft maintenance/engineering standards
Experience with S1000D or ATA-100 or ATA iSpec 2200 IETM/Software documentation for technical publication authoring
Able to read/interpret engineering drawings/models
Understanding of aircraft maintenance and technical data development processes/systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills and be proficient with MS Office suite
Experience with XML/SGML (Arbortext Editor, FrameMaker or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Enovia & Catia V5
Hands-on experience of aircraft structural repair and/or systems maintenance at the Organizational, Intermediate and Depot maintenance levels

Work Schedule
1st shift, 5/40 schedule

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
