Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Engineer for an opening Palmdale, CA.
Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Develop, modify, and apply control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Collaborates with quality, engineering, planning and manufacturing organization's to ensure quality standards are in place. Develop, and implement/or improve current methods and procedures for producing and inspecting precision and accuracy of products and production equipment Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, product evaluation and reliability, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies. Analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
o Experience with CATIA V5 - FIBERSIM/VERISURF/ PCDMIS/ MASTER CAM or VERICUT.
o Experience with Laser Trackers or portable measuring equipment.
o Develops and writes programs for numerically controlled machines that have on machine probing and coordinate measuring machines using engineering specifications drawings and models.
o Analyzes engineering drawings and models to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of inspection operations.
o Develops programs for inspecting parts, tools or sheet metal on computer controlled machines. Makes proper probe selections for each part.
o Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation on inspection requirements for each part.
o Tests and modifies existing inspection parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
• Experience with CATIA V5 - FIBERSIM/VERISURF/ PCDMIS/ MASTER CAM or VERICUT.
• Experience with Laser Trackers or portable measuring equipment.
o Self-starter needing little to no supervision of tasks.
o Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
