- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Scientist I for a contract opportunity in Eugene, OR.
Perform multi-step organic synthesis in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Effectively execute manufacturing work orders on schedule, follow directions and instructions accurately, and achieve high productivity while maintaining all safety and quality standards. Keep a clear, complete, and accurate account of all manufacturing work using Master Batch Records, work order documents and other required documentation. Maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, WIP, and finished product by completing error-free transactions in enterprise business systems. Work with the highest attention to personal and co-worker safety. Follow all department policies and guidelines related to operation of process equipment, chemical handling, and waste disposal.
For candidates with a bachelor’s degree, experience as a Research Assistant in an academic Organic Chemistry Research Lab or post-academic work experience performing organic synthesis is required. Hands-on experience in organic synthesis and troubleshooting. Demonstrated experience with organic synthesis laboratory techniques (inert atmosphere, distillation, extraction, liquid chromatography, TLC). Experience using common analytical techniques for monitoring and troubleshooting chemistry processes and determining product quality (HPLC, NMR, UV-Vis, pH).
Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with 1-2 years organic synthesis experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting.
Accredited Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry preferred.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
