- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Stockroom Laborer for a contract opportunity in Aston, PA.
Responsible for moving, cleaning and organizing all materials and equipment. Ability to handle all stockroom procedures from put-aways, picks, cycle counts and proper loading of shelves. Perform routine shipping functions according to standard established procedures and maintain shipping and receiving areas in orderly and neat manner.
Routine duties involving the application of clearly prescribed standard practice, the use of several procedures and the making of minor decisions requiring some practical judgment.
Errors are usually detected in succeeding operations and generally confined to a single department or phase of Company activity, but could be detected by the external customer. Most work is verified or checked. Corrections of errors involves time to back-check by others.
Regular contacts requiring tact to avoid friction with other departments (Purchasing, Finance, Production) furnishing or obtaining information or reports. Outside contacts are minimal.
Under direct Supervision; move, clean and organize various areas on the Production Floor as needed. Various duties to be assigned by Supervisor.
Build skids, containers, and boxes as required to ship finished goods and/or spare parts to customers.
Receive materials and/or finished goods from manufacturing area or stockroom, package or pack items verifying the correctness of part number and quantity to be shipped against packing list.
Operate forklift to load and unload trucks and put material in the appropriate area for inspection.
Knowledge of simple arithmetic and English is essential.
3-12 months similar experience.
High school graduate or equivalent with mental alertness and adaptability for clerical procedures and accuracy in checking, posting and counting.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
