Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Research Associate for a contract opportunity in Rockford, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The research associate scientist will Perform laboratory experiments for protein preparation reagent development and applications. As a technical resource, the Associate Research Scientist will work closely with supervisor and R&D staff to develop assays to assess product performance, test prototype products, and make recommendations for improving product concepts.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Laboratory experience preferably includes protein assays, cell culture, protein expression & purification, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, protein sample preparation (protein extraction, chromatography, dialysis, ultrafiltration, centrifugation, etc.), and instrumentation (UV/Vis, plate reader, FPLC)
• Effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to express thoughts, describe experimental results, and exchange information in a group setting
• Well-organized, goal-driven attitude, meets deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, ability to thoroughly document results
• Precise experimental technique
• Quick learner, ability to adapt to different methods and procedures
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute ideas in a team atmosphere

EDUCATION:
• BS/BA/MS in Biochemistry, Biology, or other Biological Science

WORK HOURS: 8AM-5PM, Full-time.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
