Chipton-Ross is seeking a Associate Manufacturing Technician for a contract opportunity in Sunnyvale, CA.

An Associate Manufacturing Technician is responsible for fulfilling manufacturing lab functions; perform a wide variety of product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies to make essential laboratory equipment. You will work safely and ensure best quality products within specified times. You will engage with your colleagues to troubleshoot problems and drive continuous improvement in the factory.

Select appropriate components to align and assemble them in proper sequence to meet specifications.
Inspect parts during sub-assembly and at key points to ensure the unit meets specified quality standards prior to moving unit to the next workstation.
Use a wide range of hand tools, including, but not limited to drill, pneumatic press, and/or torque wrenches.

Utilize our internal system to enters product related data into computer system to track component serial numbers, scan bar codes, production rates, track physical location, etc.
Order and retrieve supplies/materials such as hardware, bags, warehouse items, etc., using Material Request form.

Troubleshoots work-related problems by applying knowledge and experience toward resolution and taking appropriate steps for assistance.
Test assembled units; clean and pack final product.
Ability to work as an independent contributor in a fast-paced production laboratory formulation environment. Follow written procedures to formulate high frequency/large volume bulk reagents.
Mobility for the entire shift and ability to perform frequent heavy lifting/moving of materials and equipment is required.

Ability to read, understand, document accurately, and communicate clearly in English is required. Organized and detail oriented. Perform cleaning, sanitization, assembly/disassembly of equipment. Understand and adhere to Good Laboratory Practices
Communicates status updates to department Leads and Supervisors.

May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to various temperature conditions and the company provides the necessary PPE assigned to that task.

The employee will be required to work near or around moving mechanical parts. PPE assessments, SOP and JSA serve to guide in providing the necessary safety protection guidelines for employees that may exposed to hazardous chemicals. The noise levels in the work environment do not exceed the OSHA permissible limits however ear protection is available upon request.

Experience Requirements: 1+ years’ experience in manufacturing, construction maintenance or industrial setting.

Previous experience with multiple component manufacturing production assembly is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to sit.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.
Standing, bending, reaching and handling small parts is common to the job. Occasionally lifts up to 35 pounds.
Computer and keyboarding.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Educational background is lab-based science courses such as, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, 0-1 year of work experience will be considered. AA Degree or higher. If educational background is not-science focused, 1 or more years of work experience performing lab and/or production formulation work similar to this position is required.

WORK HOURS: 6:00AM to 2:30PM – Monday to Friday.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
