Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Engineer Software 2's for a contract opportunity in Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA, or Linthicum, MD.

We are seeking an experienced Python and C/C++ Developer to work as a member of an Agile team developing a high-visibility, mission critical component of a larger system. The new team members will be working with DevOps, deployment to and operation on Linux, requirements development, and model-based systems engineering. The developers will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. The ideal candidates will be responsible for working individually or as part of a team to review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. The team is seeking talented engineers who resolve software problems, utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
Contribute to software development and integration efforts for a Ground System
Assist team of administrators and developers with integration of tenants into an existing cloud based architecture
Participate overall system evaluation efforts, code reviews, collaborate on requirements, design documentation and test plans as a part of the overall software design and development process
Assist with identifying, developing and implementing solutions for software related technical issues that could impact costs, schedule, or performance
Review and analyze code scan results, and provide way- ahead mitigation recommendations in support of software assurance effort
Interface with other software developers and testers during integration and new version releases
Work closely with customer during S/W implementation and troubleshoot during integration activities

For a Principal Engineer Software (T3): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 5 + years of software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 9 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.

For a Sr. Principal Engineer Software (T4): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 9 + years of software development experience; 7 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 14 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.

Strong experience with Python and C/C++ software development in a Linux environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with containerizing using Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with AWS Development/Deployment
Experience with scripting
Knowledge of software lifecycles working in Agile development environment
Experience with analyzing user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
Experience with debugging existing software and correcting defects.
Assisting with developing and executing test procedures for software components
Experience in developing and supporting multi-threaded applications
Experience with working in Virtualized Environments (VMs, AWS Cloud Instances)
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)

High school diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

9/80 work week.
