Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for a contract opportunity in Carlsbad, CA.

SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Technician works in a team based environment to perform all tasks related to the manufacturing and qualification of gel electrophoresis products. The hours for this role will be predominantly 2nd shift work. Flexibility to fit production requirements will be necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quality Control Testing for the production of protein analysis tools. Responsible for qualifying product(s) in a lab setting following standard operating procedures. Will utilize basic laboratory techniques, calculations, materials measurement, operation of laboratory equipment and record keeping necessary to manufacture and qualify products. Operate semi-automated equipment in the production of protein analysis tools. Complete all batch records and manufacturing documents according to quality systems standards as required. Complete production schedule to plan and maintain sufficient output levels measured on an hourly basis. Verbal or written communication of problems to manufacturing leadership and assistance in identifying variables and offering resolutions. Utilize specialized technical knowledge and skills to make detailed observations and analyze data to ensure within operating parameters. Advise supervisor of factors that may affect quality of product. Support the investigation of product failures and customer complaints. Identify needed updates to SOPs and training documents. Attend trainings or read content to understand and follow applicable manufacturing processes and Standard Operating Procedures. May train other team members on techniques and processes. The job encounters semi-routine work situations of limited scope and complexity where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. All other reasonable tasks as may be requested by the Team Leader and/or the Production Supervisor. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. or 20 lbs. repetitively throughout the day

REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in manufacturing or research laboratory. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word. Working knowledge of MRP system.. Working experience using pipettes. Machine operator experience. Experience with Good Documentation Practices. Experience in ISO or cGMP regulated manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION:
Accredited High School Diploma/GED

WORK HOURS:
Full-Time
2nd Shift: 130pm - 9pm
Must be able to train on 1st shift for approx 1 month

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
