Chipton-Ross is seeking a Machinist 3 for an opportunity in Redondo Beach, CA.
This position is 100% onsite.
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• This position requires advanced CNC machining skills. This includes the ability to
program complex parts using MasterCam.
• The candidate must have conventional machining skills as well as have the
ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and

• Must be able to work first or second shift and extensive overtime as needed.
• AA Degree or other 2 year technical degree and 5 years of CNC
Programming/Machining experience; OR High School Diploma/ GED with 6
years of CNC/Programming Machining experience.
• Proficient with programming in MasterCam in order to machine complex parts
• 7+ years of experience programming with MasterCam
• EDM & Honing knowledge
• Experience machining complex 3-D surfaces, compound/ complex parts
• Experience with 5 axis- programming
High school diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.
9/80 workweek. If on days 5:00 am to 2:42 M-Thurs, 5:00 am to 1:42 the working Friday. The second shift hours are 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm M-Thurs. 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm the working Friday. This job will start on days but move to nights. Best guess is night shift will start late 2022 or first quarter of 2023. This will be determined by how soon we are able to add staffing.
