Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Propulsion Design/Analysis Engineer 3 for a hybrid contract opportunity in Long Beach, CA.

This role will require to be onsite 2 days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Use various digital modeling tools to design, analyze, test/simulate propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all design and performance criteria. Provide technical support for fielded systems to assure continued reliability and airworthiness. Support definition, coordination and control of the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the air vehicle. Support development of specifications and configuration concepts for associated systems and components to meet customer and air vehicle specification requirements. Support development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements. Successful candidate makes use of and applies mechanical engineering practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts for sound technical judgment, overall quality, and customer satisfaction. Work is performed under general direction.

o Assists to develop, integrate and document propulsion system requirements to establish the system design.
o Develops, maintains and modifies propulsion system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
o Develops test plans to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
o Assists with supplier development, test, production, and component repair activities to optimize the design and achieve performance goals.
o Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
o 4+ years of experience in the following
o 3D Modeling
o Repair Design Experience
o Mechanical and Structure background
o System Integration

EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

Full-Time
1st Shift

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
