Chipton-Ross is seeking an Assembler I for a contract opportunity in Carson, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will focus mainly in the Power Focus Manufacturing area. This position requires performing routine and repetitive electronic assembly operations and processes for aircraft parts in a manual manufacturing assembly line environment. Works in a team environment participating in continuous improvement activities. Uses pneumatic tools, basic hand tools, and power tools (motorized drill, rivet gun, etc.). Some of the Essential Duties will be to follow specific work instructions to manufacture quality parts; provide verbal and written status on the manufacturing process; apply and handle sealants; perform complex acceptance test procedures utilizing specific test equipment and train other lower skilled Assemblers per the Supervisor's requests. Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
In order to perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written preferred), proficiency in soldering small wires, parts and components, must possess basic math skills and be able to comprehend varying units of measure. Proficiency with use of computers, proficient with use of various types of soldering and de-soldering equipment, common power tools, hand tools (such as screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, wrenches) and ohm meters and experience and training to IPC-J-STD-001 Requirement for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies, to IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies, IPC-A-620 Requirements & Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies. Complete knowledge of related aircraft hardware as it relates to rivets, screws and bolts (NAS, MS, AN, etc.). One to three years of experience or related training is required. Employee should be experienced working with all shop tools. Employee must be able to read blue prints and have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes. Must possess basic Math skills and be able to comprehend varying units of measure. Must be able to read, comprehend written and process specification documents. In addition the candidate must be able to walk throughout the facility; sit for prolonged periods of time and be able to perform necessary housekeeping duties in order to maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.. In addition, individual must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

Accredited High School Diploma plus applicable Experience

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
