Description
Chipton Ross is seeking a Buyer for a Contract position in Everett, WA.

Summary
Coordinates activities involved with procuring products and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising for the company. Supports purchasing contract process, cost reduction goals, basic bill of material evolution, and monitoring contract requirements that have been negotiated with suppliers.

Responsibilities
" Assists with preparation of bid requests which include Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quote (RFQ), and Request for Proposal (RFP) to establish commercial conditions to procure an item. This may be in support of new production requirements, engineering changes, or in support of the contracts estimating group (new business);
" Loads and maintains ERP data necessary to allow purchase order placement by supply chain teams;
" Analyzes Bill of Material to identify new Part Numbers (PNs) and track evolution of configuration changes;
" Data mines Bill of Material specific to Program: Approved sources, PN substitutes, alternative designs, PN equivalencies etc. Focus is to simplify the Supply Chain structure and costs;
" Interfaces with internal customers to resolve problems and issues relating to purchase items;
" Interfaces with external customer to address supply chain issues, with previous approval from manager;
" Offers analysis support to the Commodity Buyer team to assure the best commercial conditions are being met during the source selection process to award Long Term Agreements;
" Monitors the application of the contracts requirements;
" Supports plans and goals lead by the Supplier Performance Management Team;
" Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture;
" Regular, predictable attendance is required;
" Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
" Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of Business, Supply Chain Management or applicable disciplines.
" Prefer 0 - 3 years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain, ideally purchasing for electrical components/materials for the Aerospace industry.
" Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
" Fluent in English
" Prefer advanced proficiency in written and spoken Spanish

Knowledge/Skills
" Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple vendors. - Advanced
" Microsoft Office computer application skills (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook). - Basic
" Good analytical and problem solving skills. - Basic
" Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Advanced

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
" ISM or APICS Certified (Preferred)

Work Schedule
M-F 8am to 5pm

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
