Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO.
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
Candidate will be working as part of the C2BMC program’s DevSecOps team to develop the test, integration and delivery pipelines. The selected candidate will support the C2BMC DevSecOps team to develop and deploy Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service capability. The candidate will assist in the system administration of multiple environments, software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation in a DevSecOps environment for a critical customer program. We are working with the leading DevOps practices and tooling (Hashicorp Tools, Gitlab CI/CD, Ansible Tower and Nexus Pro). - Work on systems administration related issues with hardware and software for different network environments. - Support deployment of custom software solutions integrating COTS, GOTS, and developed software. - Propose system administration process improvement to reduce overall maintenance requirements by working with the design team and manufacturers. - Determines systems requirements, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system configuration. - Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. - Develops and recommends corrective actions. - May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.
The following are experiences that are positives / pluses for the candidate, but not required for filling the position. Candidates with an understanding of software development life cycle. Also, experience with Agile methodology.
An experienced DevSecOps Engineer with experience in the following areas: - Hands on experience with continuous integration environments in Network, Software, or platform infrastructure capability automation, development, and deployment – Experience with Linux/UNIX or Windows system administration – Experience with a shell scripting language (e.g., Python, Powershell, etc.) – Knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially VMWare, to include infrastructure and automation of those environments – Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible, GitLab, Nexus or other equivalent technology – Experience with developing formal builds within the DoD industry.
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools. Must be responsible to work independently / solo at times on large projects, at other times will be in a collaborative team environment with other DevSecOps engineers, as well as other program development and deployment teams.
Accredited Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
