Chipton Ross if seeking a Layout Machinist for a contract assignment in Nashville, TN


Layout Machinist

The Layout Machinist will be responsible for the layout, fabricating, hand burring and finishing of sheet metal, extrude parts at bench or on the assembly line, set up and operate various types and sizes of routers to cut and mill extrusions, sheet metal, rolled section to size.

Job Responsibilities
o Planning, laying out and performing all job operations on various size sheet metal and extruded parts.
o Selects and installs proper cutting tools for router
o Uses machine tools to work to close tolerance such as drill press, arbor press, bench grinder, router, etc.
o Inspects work in progress as well as finished product. Metal tags parts as required.

Job Qualifications
o High School Diploma
o 6 months experience in a machine shop
o Advanced blueprint reading

Work Schedule
1st Shift, 4/10 Schedule


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
