Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Quality Engineer for a direct opportunity in Huntsville, AL.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
30% - Utilizes engineering background and expertise to communicate between team members and customer counterparts to provide assurance that the hardware is compliant to specifications. Handles and communicates deviations/nonconformances at different levels within the organization. Understands and communicates typical aerospace processes (machining, welding, NDT, etc.) and how they are applied to the hardware being manufactured.

20% - Applies modern quality principles, concepts, and methods to routine aerospace and manufacturing operation, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.

20% - Interprets engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer's expectations.

20% - Prepares comprehensive analyses, procedures, reports and presentations for customer review throughout the evaluation process. Reviews all supplier data and ensures that it is complete and accurate before the data is reviewed by the customer.

10% - Interfaces with the Material Review Board (MRB) to provide technical justification when a nonconformance to mutually agreed specifications is determined. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS:
Strong interpersonal skills - Ability to successfully establish positive working relationships with operational groups, all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers. - Exposure to product development in a multi-functional team environment would be a plus. Requires U.S. Citizenship. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement. Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may be a condition of employment at Client site. Proof of vaccination or an accommodation request approved by Client will be required prior to starting employment with the Company. Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.


EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in an engineering or other related discipline and approximately two to six (2-6) years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

9/80 work schedule

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
