Chipton-Ross is seeking a Test Technician for a contract opportunity in Camden, AR.

20% - Troubleshoot and check out instrumentation problems such as a shorted or open circuit due to instrument cable problems. Review Test Plans for possible instrumentation conflicts or inaccessible areas. Troubleshoot and be able to set the Conditioning box controls. Handle the set up and activation of a test equipment such as Hydrologger, Vishay Amplifier, Micro-welder, or Multimeter (VOM).
30% - Utilize complex instrumentation and equipment including, but not limited to, Load cells, Pressure transducers, strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, video cameras and High Speed Video camera system. Specifically, a background with the Phantom High Speed Camera System would be a plus.
10% - Support Process Engineers by setting up, operating experimental or prototype equipment to meet processing requirements.
10% - Perform analysis, calculations, statistics, and prepare reports on above activities.
15% - Review designs and specifications with Engineers and more advanced technicians.
10% - Assist in developing standard operating procedures and special instructions necessary to support processing of rocket motors.
5% - Perform other duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications: - Computer software background. - Previous experience with Oracle software or Q-Nix. - Previous experience with micro-welding instrumentation or soldering instrumentation. - Experience or courses completed on Blueprint reading or Geometric Tolerance. - Ability to perform engineering mathematical calculations. - Ability to create simple drawings and sketches for communication purposes. - Experience with the set up and activation of test equipment such as Micristar, Hydrologger, Vishay Amplifier, Micro-welder or Multimeter (VOM). - Experience with complex instrumentation and equipment includes but is not limited to Load cells, Pressure transducers, strain gages, thermocouples, accelerometers, video cameras and High Speed Video camera system. Specifically, a background with Ethernet, fiber optic, and coaxial cables is preferred. Experience with the Phantom high speed video camera system would be a plus. - Previous experience with CAD or CMM would be a plus. - Experience with test summaries and test documentation is preferred. - Prior experience with MIL-STD-2105 would be preferred. Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 may be a condition of employment at Aerojet Rocketdyne. Proof of vaccination or an accommodation request approved by Aerojet Rocketdyne will be required prior to starting employment with the Company. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25 pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Accredited Associate degree with a concentration in engineering, physical science or related discipline and (1) to (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
