Chipton-Ross is seeking a R&D Scientist for a contract opportunity in Carlsbad, CA.
Our Research and Development team crafts novel products that empower scientists in their quest to gain a deeper understanding of cell biology and enables groundbreaking research in fields like immunology, oncology, and infectious diseases. We are passionate about providing the latest innovations in dyes and instrumentation, alongside a growing antibody portfolio to push the boundaries of flow cytometry, western blotting, and imaging. Validating and supporting the commercialization of a novel assay for flow cytometry by
o Acquiring and implementing knowledge from current literature to design and perform experiments, conducting troubleshooting with some supervision
o Documentation of results in lab notebook
o Utilizing conventional and spectral flow cytometry technology and analyzing resulting data sets
o Managing multiple experiments concurrently to meet product release timelines
o Preparation of serum from human and mouse blood or tissue culture and downstream processing of samples
o Preparing and presenting written and oral reports to manager and extended R&D teams
o Communicating and working effectively with team members across the organization to optimize product development
o Performing other responsibilities to support the team, as assigned
o Hands-on experience with setting up and performing multi-color flow cytometry experiments, including data collection, analysis and interpretation of results and troubleshooting
o Comfortable in processing blood with moderate supervision and familiarity with basic immune cell subsets
o Experience with Prime Flow assay, small particle flow cytometry and/or extracellular vesicle biology are a plus
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Flow Jo software
o Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize
o Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
o Highly collaborative, enjoys working with a diverse team and supports an inclusive environment
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology with a focus on immunology, oncology, cell biology or related field with 3+ years of industry OR equivalent research experience
WORK HOURS: First, full-time.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
