Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Engineer 4 for a contract opportunity in Richardson, TX.

*This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work in an integrated team of software, hardware, and systems engineers to develop, troubleshoot, and test P-8A training systems & lab products.
Install software in the lab and support software engineers in development and testing of their software.
Represent the team during technical meetings with leadership and the customer.
Troubleshoot lab issues and collaborate with SMEs to determine root cause.
Maintain and update test procedures for the P-8 trainer. Support informal test events and formal testing with the customer during formal test execution.
Create/configure Network File System (NFS) shares and volumes, create LUNs on data store systems.
Perform basic network configuration changes, such as updating switch configurations and opening/closing ports.
Perform lab administrator duties, such as add groups and/or components to Active Directory, DHCP, DNS.
Configure Windows and Linux servers and Virtual Machines (VMs) by adding them to the existing network and meet reporting requirements.
Ensure system compliance with DISA STIG Requirements and remediate vulnerability findings from ACAS scans.
Develop and maintain documentation to configure and install integrated hardware/software systems.
Evaluate and effectively communicate complex system problems and resolution.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
Basic understanding of Active Directory and GPOs
5+ Experience with configuring and updating complex computer networks
5+ Experience with Linux, Windows, Windows Server Operating Systems
Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time domestically (intermittent for remote installations)
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Linux/Windows/Cisco Operating System certifications (e.g. CCNA, Red Hat Linux+, Windows Server 2016, etc.)
Experience with NAS (Network Attached Storage), SAN (Storage Area Network), configuration & familiarity with: iSCSI, LUNs, NFS shares
Experience with VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
Experience with scripting languages such as: bash, powershell, python.
Experience with Solarwinds
Experience with the P-8 Weapon Tactics Trainer

EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, (Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience.)

TRAVEL: YES
Domestic 25% (intermittent for remote installations).

FULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT
WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
