- Chipton-Ross is seeking a Sr MFG Filling/Finishing Technicians for a contract opportunity in Carlsbad, CA.
You will work in a team-based environment within a GMP manufacturing department responsible for producing animal origin free enzymes. You will be part of a team performing all tasks related to filling and finishing of these products. You will work in a clean, controlled manufacturing facility under GMP conditions.
o Carry out Standard Operating Procedures for downstream manufacturing, visual inspection, material handling and inventory control.
o Operate and possibly train others on various Filling procedures including manual or automated filling equipment, labeling, laboratory instruments and hand filling processes.
o Complete all batch records and manufacturing documents according to GMP quality systems standards as required
o Update work orders in our inventory management system (E1) such as issuing hours, inventory transfer, issuing material to WOs, performing partial and full completions.
o Maintain accurate inventory of products and inventory records
o Support the planning and execution of the production schedule
o Maintain cleanliness and standards in the GMP Filling lab
o Aid adjacent groups after daily duties have been achieved
o Share best practices with other employees in the areas of Safety, Quality and Productivity
o Proactively addresses ergonomic concerns in work area
o Participates in site safety initiatives such as spill response, first aid team, and safety committee.
o Subject matter expert for Good Documentation Practices within the department
o Review completed batch records to ensure completeness
o Proactively reach out to support groups for assistance on production issues
o Solves basic problems applying experience and knowledge and escalates when necessary
o Completes basic equipment troubleshooting for common failure modes
o Can initiate problem reports for deviations and non-conforming material with our quality management system
o Partners with support groups to provide input on continuous improvement initiatives or process updates
o Participate in special projects, validation and PPI activity
o Lead daily tier meetings and assists with ownership of actions and communications
o Regularly trains new employees on department processes and signs off on new training proficiencies for new employees
o Completes certified training program and applies concepts during training of new employees
o Works independently and in a team environment
o May function temporarily in Lead capacity, in absence of Lead
o At least 3+ years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP lab
o Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment
o Experience with lab equipment and processes such as peristaltic pumps, pipettes, aseptic techniques
o Experience in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
o Experience with Good Documentation Practices

o Well organized, detail oriented and proficient at multi-tasking
o Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
o Close vision and ability to adjust focus required. Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds.
o May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.
EDUCATION: o High school diploma or equivalent required.
WORK HOURS: 1st shift 8-5 or 7-4.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
