Description
Chipton-Ross is seeking an Accounting Specialist for a contract opportunity in Rockwall, TX.

This position is 100% onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proficient accounting knowledge and experience in complex environments
o Demonstrated collaborative communication within an organization and externally
o Experience in continuous improvement and process development
o Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate in person and remotely, across multiple locations and time zone
Works both autonomously and with a team to complete all tasks with general supervision
o Collaborates with business units to effect efficient, accurate and compliant accounting
o Researches issues and proposes corrective actions or transactions
o Reviews transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment
o Communicates with business unit contacts on processes, issue resolution, and problem solving
o Coordinates month end closing activities with business unit personnel to ensure reporting deadlines are met
o Finalizes results and supplemental disclosure data and updates in consolidation software

Prepares routine journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations of various complexity

Develops and/or documents processes as required

Supports internal and external audit requests

Performs special assignments and ad hoc analysis as required
REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance, which requires US citizenship
o 4+ years of accounting with comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements

DESIRED:
Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
o Demonstrated excellence in analytical and research skills
o Experience in public accounting/auditing is a strongly preferred
o Financial or accounting experience in a complex ERP environment required and experience in Costpoint or SAP is preferred
o Experience in preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and journal entries
o CPA Certification or qualification to sit for the CPA exam is preferred
o Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion.
o Flexible planner in terms of daily activities with ability to adeptly react to changing requirements and priorities
o Exceptional organizational skills enabling monitoring of key due dates and activities
o Ability to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals
o Knowledge / Exposure to Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards is a plus

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other technical degree and four (4) year of related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

SHIFT:
Full-Time


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
