Chipton-Ross is seeking a Systems Analysis Engineer for a direct hire opportunity in Canoga Park, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general direction, the Senior Engineer, Analysis/System Engineering determines approaches to objectives demonstrating an in-depth understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices. - Provides imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions to a wide range of engineering problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques. - Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. - Conceives and plans projects involving the development of new methods to attain objectives. - Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features. - Works on assignments requiring broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and in?depth knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties within the industry. - May participate in technical proposals describing section analytical and systems engineering capability, past successful experience, proposed design approach and rationale with estimated cost and schedule to perform. - Performs analysis, design or test of one or more complex materials, structural components or functional systems of Company products. - May lead planning and conduct of system trades, requirements, verification, and risk efforts and design reviews. - Provides guidance to less senior engineers and support personnel as required and act as lead on a project. Specifically, the Senior Engineer will perform systems performance analysis assignments through established policies and procedures. The successful candidate will support lead engineers in the performance of technical analyses which involve the development and execution of system level, physics-based models and supporting analytical tool development focused together on effective pressure-fed liquid rocket engine system development designs which meet both mission and system performance requirements.
75% - Support effective development of pressure-fed liquid rocket engine systems for NGI programs. Involves becoming proficient with department's standard tools/models, processes and standard work.
15% - In support of the above jobs the candidate would be interfacing with a number of multi-discipline engineering team staff (e.g. combustion devices, valves, tanks, interconnects, test, and/or system engineering) to solicit appropriate characteristics, design constraints, requirements and would be expected to communicate/share system development results with internal/external customers.
10% - Develop competency in aspects of Model-Based System Engineering to effectively integrate SPA models as part of the larger Digital Transformation initiative.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat.

REQUIREMENTS:
: - Strong foundations in physics and math are essential - Proficiency using standard MS Office tool suite on the Windows operating system expected - Candidate must be self-motivated, have good attention-to-detail and have excellent teamwork skills - Solid communications skills, both verbal and written - Skills – Fortran, C/C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink.

Preferred Qualifications: - An Active Security Clearance - Prior liquid rocket engine experience - Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, and/or ModelCenter

EDUCATION:
Requires an accredited BS degree in Engineering within one of the follow engineering majors: Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical, or related major and at least five (5) years of experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
