Description


Chipton-Ross is seeking a Guidance & Nav Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity in Grand Prairie, TX.

This position is 100% onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the integration, test, verification and validation of the system and various subsystems, including ground system fire control algorithms, missile guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms and actual Operational Flight Program code with C++ and FORTRAN models of weapons, sensors, ground systems and environments through the 6-Degree of Freedom (6-DOF) Integrated Flight Simulations (IFS), Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL) Lab and actual flight tests
o Participate in flight test prediction and data performance analysis for multiple flights
o Work with a team to develop robust algorithms to improve system performance
o Support system performance assessments and trade studies

REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in C++, FORTRAN and/or MATLAB o Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment o Current security clearance o Willingness to work onsite in a classified lab environment

DESIRED:
Experience with FORTRAN, Ada and/or Python o Prior experience with Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3)/IAMD modeling o Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL) o Prior experience supporting flight tests o Familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems o Ability to occasionally travel for up to two weeks at a time to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to support flight tests

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
