Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for quality who will be responsible for holding a high quality standard by collaborating and supporting programs to meet program software development milestones.

The Software Quality Engineer (SWQE) will work very closely with Software/System/Cyber Engineers and need to understand the architecture design, code development of products and ensure secure testability of the developed products. Providing maximum coverage and risk prevention, you will be responsible for ensuring demands of rapid continuous integration, and continuous deployment within an Agile environment performs most efficiently with quality in mind.

• Collaborate in test strategies on all supported platforms and languages to help improve overall quality and test code coverage
• Collaborate with System, Software, and Cyber to understand requirements and process
• Collaborate with capability teams to define, implement, and maintain test plans, test specifications and test suites
• Perform routine process and product evaluations
• Perform independent verifications aligned with Software Quality processes
• Provide technical leadership, driving and performing engineering best practices in an Agile environment to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs
• Knowledge of supplier quality techniques for verifying product entering the supply chain
• Experience verifying a subcontractor quality management system.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
SWQE will be required to develop, modify and apply quality principles to software development and use of software and software-based systems for make and/or buy software products.
Perform verification and validation of test equipment including hardware in the loop systems.
Design and implement software development and maintenance processes.
Develop overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives.
Define audit strategy to ensure compliance to systems/software processes and be experienced and familiar with documenting process compliance and the internal RCCA process.
Design, specify and conduct test methods for software inspection, verification and validation.
The successful candidate will be able to evaluate and analyze software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction and ensure measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
Perform software product reviews against contractual, technical and process requirements. Reviews include requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
Perform or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability. Additionally, they will provide SWQE management with metrics, reports, schedules, basis of estimates for tasking, and other support as necessary.
They must be willing to travel, able to work off-shift and weekends when needed
• Experience as a process auditor or with the audit process
• Proficient in test suites using object-oriented methodologies (Agile, DevSecOps)
• Proficient in Software Development (Designing algorithms, standard deviation and coding standards)
• Knowledge in developing frameworks and automated test cases
• Knowledge in design and development for integration, regression, unit tests using industry standard tools
• Working knowledge with one or more of the following test methodologies, processes, and tools (Eclipse, SonarQube, GitLab, JIRA, JUnit, Ansible, Google Test, Docker, Jenkins, MATLAB )
• Process and procedures ISO/IEC 12207, AS9100
• Microsoft Office Proficient
• Experience with continuous improvement practices, using tools like RCCA, SPC and Causal Analysis to drive corrective action and preventive action
• Knowledge of relational databases/SQL
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Data Analytics Tools (Tableau etc. )
• Experience working with client-server architect
• Experience working with white/grey/black box testing

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (STEM)
• Experience using at least one of the following: C++, JAVA, MATLAB, Java, Python, and or C#
• Familiar with Process and procedures ISO/IEC 12207, AS9100
• Experience with continuous improvement practices, using tools like RCCA, SPC and Causal Analysis to drive corrective action and preventive action
• Software Engineering Experience, Agile
• Experience performing software process/ product audits

EDUCATION:
• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or 5+ years of related professional experience.

WORK HOURS: 4/10-A

MISCELLANEOUS: Applicants responding to this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements by currently possessing the ability to view classified government information.

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
