Technical Editor and Writer

Chipton-Ross is seeking two Technical Editor and Writer 2 for an opportunity in Goleta, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
- Primary scope is to write work instructions for manufacturing technicians


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma with at least 2 years of experience.
STEM Academic / Professional Background; Experience with technical writing for manufacturing.
Desire for tech writer to have some kind of Mfg experience, and should have some experience with assembly work for technicians. Understand experience with work instructions for a technician. Person will be transcribing not coming up with the content. Purely administrative position.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System), STEM Degree, Manufacturing Experience.

EDUCATION:
High school diploma/GED is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek. First shift.
On-site with opportunity to go remote down the road.


Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
